ACME (KDKA) – One person has been arrested and roughly 100 marijuana plants were seized during a raid in Fayette County Tuesday morning.
According to officials at the scene, the raid was conducted at a home in the 200 block of Horseshoe Bend Road in Acme.
The drug raid was conducted by the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office and the Fayette County District Attorney.
April Hill said she’s stunned after what happened next door to her home.
“I thought it was gunshots. I wasn’t sure what was happening, pretty scary at 6:30 in the morning,” Hill said.
Neighbors said this kind of stuff doesn’t happen in their area. In fact, when they heard the sound this morning they thought it was a gunshot from somebody who was hunting.”
“I heard a loud boom. I actually thought it was a bear and maybe one of the neighbors was trying to shoot at a bear in our backyard and I came out my front door and I saw a long line of cop cars and the SWAT team. I was outside in my pajamas and they yelled at me to get back inside,” Hill said.
After several hours, authorities pulled bag after bag of marijuana plants, lights and other items used to grow it. They also seized several guns.
“Never would’ve thought that kind of operation or that big of an operation going by what they just carried out. Never would’ve thought that was going on next door,” Hill said.
One man was taken out of the house in handcuffs and will be charged.
No other information has been released at this time.
