Can CBD help Dogs

cannabis marketing agency

I see a lot of discussion on the web about whether or not CBD oil can help with dogs with anxiety and other medical conditions.  Althoughy CBD oil is not a medical cure for disease, it may calm a dog down or make him more comfortable.

Capsules or Oil?

I’ve found that it’s better to use an oil versus capsules because some dogs have trouble absorbing capsules. You can use the pipette to add a few drops to his usual food.

What can CBD oil help dogs with?

CBD oil for dogs has become a very popular treatment option to help with everything from anxiety, joint pain and inflammation, digestive problems, skin irritations and more. Because of its powerful anti-inflammatory effect on the immune system it is being recommended for many autoimmune disorders. And as you are aware CBD oil also helps with seizures in dogs.

This is a very good write-up on CBD oil for dogs and the author, Mutable Matter, has her own line of CBD products (see link below). I went with another company that uses pure CBD oil from hemp, not “hemp seed oil” as many companies do. Hemp seed oil can be harmful to some dogs and actually increases inflammation.

CBD oil is also used for arthritis in dogs and owners are reporting that it helps relieve the stiffness or joint pain in arthritic dogs who have been on other medications with no relief.  CBD oil has become a good option for these types of situations.

CBD Oil for Anxiety and stress

CBD oil can be used for dogs who get very stressed in certain situations such as fireworks, travel and being in close proximity to other dogs. Some owners note that it has a positive calming effect.

Can CBD Oil help with cancer in dogs?

Most pet owners are looking for a treatment that will not only help with their dog’s cancer but one that does not carry the same risk of side effects as conventional treatments can have on dogs with cancer. There is a lot of information shared about CBD oil for cancer in dogs and CBD has even helped with terminal pets that were on the other treatments.  CBD can alleviate some of the side effects, like nausea, vomiting, weight loss etc… that conventional therapies may bring on.

Here is someone’s testimony about how her precious dog responded to CBD oil while being treated for a very aggressive tumor.

“[Nala] has been through everything, radiation, surgery to remove part of the tumour, chemotherapy….  It has been a very sad year but I am refusing to give up and so is Nala. She is now on CBD oil and if she can’t be cured then this will certainly keep her comfortable for the time that she has left with me.”

Overall, CBD oil is not harmful to dogs and may help them with certain situations and ailments. Remember to always give your dog CBD oil under veterinarian’s advice and supervision and make sure that you are giving the correct dose.
