 – U.S. Customs and Border Protection says agents seized 1,439 pounds of alleged marijuana at the Texas-Mexico border in a commercial trailer hauling a shipment of limes.

CBP officers assigned to the Parr International Bridge cargo facility on January 31 encountered a tractor trailer hauling a shipment of limes. During a secondary inspection, CBP officers located the narcotics and extracted 620 packages containing a total of 1,439 pounds of alleged marijuana concealed in the trailer, according to CBP.

“Our officers’ experience combined with the use of available tools continues to pay off with great narcotic interceptions,” said Port Director Carlos Rodriguez, Hidalgo/Pharr/Anzalduas Port of Entry.

CBP values the drugs at $287,700. The case is under investigation by Homeland Security Investigations special agents.
