5 Tips to Improve cannabis Bud Quality
The bud of a marijuana plant is the prized appendage that appears after a plant enters the flowering stage of its life cycle. The leaves of the marijuana plant contain THC, but the buds of female plants are the most potent product by far.
So i’m interrested as i’m sure everyone is on how to get dense buds? Is it a strain dependant thing,a light thing or a fertalizer thing lol?I only have about 2 grows (complete, from seed to chop)under my belt so limited experience as of now but those 2 grows the bud was good but came out after the dry stringy ,light and u can definately see thru and see the stem .
1.Give your cannabis Lots of Light
In the wild, growing cannabis plants generally like bright, direct sunlight. Outdoor cannabis plants given lots of light can grow to the size of trees! That’s why indoor growers have been trying for years to make a system that mimics the sun or even improves on it if possible.
The life cycle of the cannabis plant is determined by the daily photoperiod (hours of light per day). Natural sunlight is the best form of light for growing cannabis plants, although their life cycle can be controlled much easier with artificial indoor grow lighting. Lighting is literally the energy source that your plants need in order to produce the food they need so that they can grow and flourish. This is the primary reason why the warm regions that we just mentioned here are the ideal places to grow the cannabis plant. Cannabis can grow to great heights if treated correctly. This usually involves plenty of sunlight, but it is also possible to grow it using just a skylight.
2.Master the Basics of Growing
Tomatoes can be grown from seed or starts. If you wish to start from seed, seek a credible seed source, whether catalog or nursery, and plan to sow seeds in flats six to eight weeks before transplanting. There are excellent references and instructions in planting from seed to guide first time gardeners. It’s too late to do it this year – you MUST plant from starts now.
Unfortunately, because there are many different kinds of bamboos — and they do not share exactly the same growing requirements — the question does not admit of a single answer that covers all the bases.
3.Nutrients and Supplement
You will easily recognize this type of bud because it appears airy and flaccid. These buds don’t mature properly, and they don’t get dense or firm up as much as normal buds. Consequently, they have less THC. If you have been growing indoors, this type of bud may be due to the plants’ proximity to the light.
Giving your plants natural nutrients in the form of good soil and a small dosages of fertilizing (10-15% of recommended strength for mineral based fertilizers and indoor never above EC 0.7 mS/cm) after 4-5 weeks of growth to top up used nutrients is usually sufficient for great development and high yields.
Medical Cannabis requires both Macronutrients (i.e. Nitrogen, Phosphorus & Potassium) and Micronutrients (i.e. Calcium, Sulfur, Magnesium, Copper, Iron, Manganese, Molybdenum & Zinc) for successful growth.
Most commercially available soils have fertilizers (& nutrients) already added to them and will not normally require additional fertilizers and nutrients during the first month or two of growth. Cannabis normally requires the use of more Nitrogen (N) during the vegetative growing cycle. During the flowering cycle cannabis will normally require an increase in Phosphorus.
4.Manipulate Temperature and Humidity
In all stages of cannabis growth your plants will have a constant need to intake water, and the amount of water they need fluctuates with the humidity in your grow room. When the humidity is high, cannabis plants use their leaves to absorb moisture from the air which causes them to drink less water from their roots.
If your grow room feels warm or cold, humid or dry, that is a sign that you may want to look into changing the temperature and/or humidity of your grow area.
Humidity is a factor that partly determines how much your plants will drink. If the air is dry, your plants will tend to drink more at their roots. If they’re already drinking more due to high temperatures, low humidity can cause them to drink a lot of water through their roots and uptake too-high levels of nutrients.
5.Start with Top shelf Genetics
People looking for top-shelf Jersey genetics often turn to Iowa. That’s because Lyon Jerseys, a farm that been in the registered Jersey business nearly 90 years is near Toledo, in the east-central part of the Hawkeye State. Picking out cannabis is a lot like selecting fresh produce or flowers you’re looking for something that looks appealing, has a good color, and produces an enticing aroma. Additionally, you want to avoid any glaring defects like mold and mildew, insects, and discoloration.
