7 arrested after marijuana, meth busts in El Paso

El Paso County sheriff’s narcotics investigators arrested seven people during separate marijuana and methamphetamine cases last week.

The arrests took place Oct. 4 as part of drug investigations.

Deputies arrested four men after finding several backpacks containing more than 36 pounds of marijuana in a vehicle, a Sheriff’s Office news release states.

The marijuana was found during a traffic stop on Gateway East Boulevard near Yarbrough Drive on the East Side, officials said.

The four all face charges of possession of more than five pounds, less than 50 pounds of marijuana.

Sheriff’s officials identified the men arrested as: Daniel Regalado Valles, 30, who is listed on a jail log as Daniel Valles Regalado; Alfonso Cisneros, 30, alias “Magic”; Israel Sanchez Nuñez, 32, of Juárez; and Frank Joseph Hernandez, 36.

Regalado Valles, Cisneros and Hernandez are from El Paso.

Cisneros was jailed under a $150,000 bond. Regalado Valles and Hernandez had bonds set at $75,000 and Sanchez Nuñez had a bond of $25,000.

Meth arrests 

Sheriff’s officials said that investigators arrested two men and a woman and found counterfeit money during a methamphetamine case.

Deputies arrested Salvador Muñoz, 30; Angel De La Rosa, 25, and Lorenzita Huerta, 26,

Deputies arrested the two men after finding 25 grams of meth while searching a vehicle during a traffic stop, officials said. The location of the traffic stop was not disclosed.

Following the traffic stop, investigators went to the last location where the men had been and spoke with a woman, officials said.

Investigators then served a search warrant at a motel room on Dyer Street and found marijuana, prescription pills, drug paraphernalia and counterfeit money.

Muñoz and De La Rosa face charges of manufacture/delivery of meth. Muñoz faces an additional counterfeit money charge.

Huerta faces charges of drug possession, counterfeit money and prohibited items in a correctional facility.

Muñoz was jailed under a $55,000 bond, according to a jail log. De La Rosa and Huerta each had bonds of $50,000.
