During a routine traffic stop on I-94 the Morton County Sheriff’s Department found 80 lbs. of marijuana.
The 60-year-old Oregon man was pulled over for an illegal window tint.
The man said he was traveling from Culver, Oregon to Minneapolis, Minnesota.
The Sheriff’s Deputy notified the man he was actively patrolling for drug trafficking and asked to the search the vehicle. Particularly search a number of plastic totes in the back of the pickup.
The driver consented to the search and opened the totes for the deputy to see, this produced a strong odor of marijuana. The driver admitted the totes contained marijuana and he was arrested for possession of a controlled substance with an intent to deliver, a Class A felony.
The incident occurred shortly after 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 14th.
