STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Will New Yorkers soon be able to pass it to the left without legal consequences? How will that impact the state? What about driving high? Taxes? Enforcement?

So many questions linger, and while nobody has a definitive answer for most of them, we’re going to fire up the roundtable, kick around a few thoughts and keep the conversation moving.

The final episode of our three-part “United States of Weed” podcast focuses on the variables surrounding a potential action that has occurred in several states across America: The legalization of marijuana for recreational use.

Senior opinion writer Tom Wrobleski and a pair of SILive reporters, Kristin F. Dalton and Erik Bascome, recently sat down for a friendly chat (no marijuana involved) about weed, the positives and negatives associated with legalized bud, and the potential “what if” scenarios.

You can download the podcast from the iTunes Store, listen to it via the YouTube clip above, or check out the full segment on Spotify.

Earlier this year, SILive and the Advance published an in-depth series called “The United States of Weed” focusing on the legalization of marijuana and how it has impacted other states.

Wrobleski, Dalton and Bascome commented and reported, respectively, on various issues related to pot, its use and how it’s handled by state governments throughout the country.

MARIJUANA MEETING SET FOR THIS WEEK

On Wednesday, Staten Islanders will have the opportunity to give New York state officials their opinions on marijuana legislation during an open forum at the College of Staten Island.

The event is set for 6 to 8 p.m. at the Williamson Theatre in the Center of the Arts building (1P) on the Willowbrook campus.
