GREAT BAY – On Saturday May 13th, the Dutch Caribbean Coastguard seized marijuana on-board a vessel, the Coast Guard reported on Saturday. The operation was carried out in close cooperation with the Customs Department of St. Maarten.
The vessel, the ‘Scotty Sky’, was moored in Great Bay. During a thorough control, 101 packages of marijuana were found, with a total weight of 35.67 kilos.
They were hidden between the coconut plants. The marijuana has been seized and transferred to the police service. The captain of the ‘Scotty Sky’ was arrested. The case is under further investigation.
