MIDDLESEX COUNTY – Two men — one from Monroe and one from New York — have been arrested and charged in connection with operating a multimillion-dollar marijuana growing and distribution business in a Metuchen warehouse.
Eddie Chan, 42, of Monroe and Albert Chan, 42, of Queens, New York, who are not related, were arrested Monday following a six-week investigation, according to Middlesex County Prosecutor Andrew C. Carey, Metuchen Police Chief David Irizarry and Monroe Police Chief Michael Lloyd.
The investigation was conducted by the Metuchen Police Department, with assistance from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Homelands Security Investigations, the Monroe Police Department, the Woodbridge Police Canine Unit, the New Jersey State Police and the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office.
Detectives seized 161 marijuana plants, 16 pounds of marijuana ready for distribution, production equipment and packaging material.
