The singer and his girlfriend, Madison Parker, were arrested in Georgia Saturday on DUI and marijuana possession charges, according to the Habersham County Sheriff’s office.
Carter, 29, was charged on suspicion of driving under the influence, possession of marijuana less than one ounce, and possession of drug-related objects. He is currently in police custody, authorities said.
Parker was a passenger in the vehicle.
Carter was scheduled to perform with Flo Rida at Kansas City Live! in Kansas City, Mo., on Saturday. He is also scheduled to perform alone on Sunday in the same city.
His reps tweeted from his account Saturday to let fans know he would miss that day’s performance.
“Due to transportation issues, Aaron will not make his set time tonight in Kansas City. He promises to come back soon. He apologizes to his fans in KC and Mix93.93,” the tweet read.There’s been no word on whether or not he will perform Sunday.

The addled pop star has shared his recent struggles publicly.
In June, he fired off tweets at fans who he accused of body shaming him for his weight loss.
He attributed his fragile frame to a hiatal hernia he was diagnosed with at age 19, a medical condition he says makes it difficult for him to eat.
“I’m entirely hurt by a so-called fan that I just encountered,” he tweeted in June.
“She wasn’t realizing I was listening, she said I look like I have cancer. This is body shaming. You guys are bullying me. I’ve already addressed my medical issues. #bodyshaming.”
In May, Carter lost his father. Five years ago, his 25-year-old sister Leslie died of a drug overdose.
