MARFA, Texas (Local 2/Fox 24) – A Kermit man has been turned over to the Department of Homeland Security Investigations after Border Patrol agents reportedly located more than 1,000 pounds of marijuana in his truck this week.
Officials with the U.S. Customs and Border Protection office say the man arrived at a checkpoint in Marfa and a K-9 alerted to the flatbed of the truck.
Agents later found packages of marijuana inside of a tank, according to the release.
The marijuana was valued at about $850,000.
