The Trailer Park Boys have stormed into the marijuana market with their own legal pot after the release of a whisky brand that was inspired by them.
On Wednesday, Ricky, Bubbles and Julian declared that they had entered into a partnership with OrganiGram to brand their legal recreational marijuana product. OrganiGram is a Moncton, N.B-based Company that owns a license to produce medical marijuana.
According to a release on the agreement, TPB Productions Limited and OrganiGram will develop branding, a competitive product portfolio and packaging with the target market being recreational pot users. OrganiGram has the exclusive duty of distributing the product.
According to Louis Thomas; the Sonic Entertainment Group President who represents TPB Production Ltd, they have been studying the Canadian market and they are convinced that OrganiGram are the best partners they could possibly ask for.
According to Gracewood; the OrganiGram Chief Commercial Officer, this partnership will serve as the foundation as the two companies plan for the nation’s legalization of recreational marijuana. Gracewood added that their company is incredibly excited to help the Trailer Park Boys develop a National brand.
Gracewood said that it has taken them about 1 year to come up with the exclusive five-year arrangement. The Chief Commercial Officer states that the partnership was born from the companies’ appreciating the value of brands within the recreational market space.
OrganiGram is aware that recreational marijuana has not yet been legalized but the company is simply being proactive as it anticipates the big boom. The company has embraced the use of the celebrity endorsement deal as part of its winning strategy.
The Liberal government intends to examine a task force and it has stated that they could introduce a legislation in 2017.
