The most important step in photography, analyze your light! You want all the trichomes to glitter and reflect that light, so be sure to rotate yourself around the bud to find where the sun perfectly highlights your glimmering bud.
Backlighting can look awesome for certain photos, but if your goal is to show off your buds then align those beautiful buds with the sun and use Mother Nature to your advantage!
I’m sure some of you in Southern California are thinking, “But the sun is too damn bright to capture my buds properly!” Which is totally valid, the sun can be too bright at times and won’t show off the details or captivating colors of your chronic. To fix this, try going out on an overcast or semi-cloudy day so that the light is more diffused. You can also find a nice shady spot that still reflects that bright light onto your beautiful buds.
