Chicago man arrested after Marion County officials seize 32 pounds of marijuana

Marion County Sheriff’s Office stopped Daozheng Kang of Chicago for speeding on August 4.

After a consented search of the vehicle, officials seized about 32 pounds of marijuana.

According to Prosecuting Attorney, David N. Clayton, Kang was arrested and taken to the Marion County Jail and charged with a Class C felony of Delivery of a Controlled Substance.

Kang’s bond has been set at $50,000 cash or surety.

The charge carries a range of punishment up to 10 years in the Dept. of Corrections or up to 1 year in jail or a fine up to $10,000 or a combination.

Kang’s first court date is scheduled for August 11.
