In 2015, the City of Santa Monica City Council updated the City’s Zoning law to allow for two Medicinal Cannabis Retailers. Since that time the laws related to commercial cannabis activities and personal use have changed dramatically in California. In light of these changes, at its October 24, 2017 meeting, the Santa Monica City Council updated local law to establish a selection process for the two Medicinal Cannabis Retailers.
For anyone interested in being considered for one of the two retailer licenses that will be issued in Santa Monica, notice is hereby given that on December 21, 2017, the City of Santa Monica issued a Request for Applications and invites Medicinal Cannabis Retailer applications for two retailers to operate within limited areas of the City of Santa Monica.
Applications for a Medicinal Cannabis Retailer must be submitted in accordance with the requirements and procedures outlined in the Medicinal Cannabis Retailer Selection Request for Applications issued December 21, 2017.  The submission deadline is Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at 12:00 noon PST.
