Colorado bill could allow Marijuana delivery

There are several services in Colorado that deliver liquor or prescription drugs right to your front door, but imagine if the case was the same for marijuana.

A bill before the Colorado state legislature would allow legalized delivery of marijuana straight to your home.

State representative Jonathan Singer as well as several others are already in support of the measure.

The pilot program would put 15 licenses out for the first year and would allow licensed stores to deliver several of their products to individual patients or customers.

While many are in favor of the bill, local dispensaries here on the Western Slope said they aren’t sure if they’re on board.

“As the way things stand right now we wouldn’t be able to deliver to Grand Junction or unincorporated Mesa County regardless. It really wouldn’t make sense,” said Jesse Loughman, Owner of Colorado Weedery.

California, Nevada, and Oregon are states that already offer cannabis deliveries.

Those with Colorado Weedery said they’ll certainly watch as the measure develops, but said it could take some time for them to start delivering cannabis themselves.

They also said things would have to change on a city and county level before delivery services would be beneficial to them.
