Cookie Crisp cereal doused in marijuana hospitalizes 3 Warren teens

Cookie Crisp marijuana edibles weren’t a good thing for three Warren students Wednesday morning after they were hospitalized for unknowingly consuming the food.

The culprit is in Warren police custody.

The students, eighth-graders who attend Michigan Math and Science Academy on Dequindre, ate the cereal given to them by a ninth-grader. According to Warren Police Commissioner Bill Dwyer, the cereal contained marijuana oil.

“We got the call at about 10:26 this morning to 27300 Dequindre,’’ said Dwyer. “ … When the officers arrived they were met by the principal and parents. They were advised that three eighth-grade female students had been transported to St. John Oakland Hospital after complaints of feeling dizzy and lightheaded.

We have recovered the Cookie Crisp cereal container and some suspected marijuana…So he had just, you know, apparently, just poured that marijuana oil over the Cookie Crisp cereal,” said Dwyer.

“It’s an ongoing investigation. We are interviewing other students and parents.”

The three girls were said to be doing fine.
