The New York conference called Crypto Sanctum, promised to offer networking opportunities – but the lunch was ‘infused’, Wired reports. ‘Infused,’ for those not in the know, is trendy weed-speak for ‘spiked with massive amounts of high-grade cannabis’. But the menu was obviously not clear enough – as many of the blockchain-wranglers tucked in without realising they were ingesting a vast amount of drugs. Attendees reported that the room began spinning, or that they were unable to speak, and that they could barely stand up.
The menu, which included cocktails and sushi, was ‘infused’, with olives which stated that they were marinated in cannabis.
The result? Many of the 200 crypto experts were complaining on Telegram that they could barely remember leaving the conference. Whether anyone came up with incredible new ideas for cryptocurrencies remain to be seen.
