Holder Points out Jeff Sessions Obsession with Marijuana
NEW YORK – While speaking to students at the John Jay College of Criminal Justice in Manhattan on Tuesday, Eric Holder, the former Attorney General said that Jeff sessions seemed obsessed with pot, stating that the new Attorney General had “almost obsession with marijuana.” He also agreed with the Justice Departments decision to let states regulate marijuana, provided 8 or 9 violations didn’t take place. Once example would be violating regulations on underage sales.
Mr. Holder was the Attorney General for 6 years during the Obama Administration and supervised the Justice Department’s stance on federal involvement with state policies, which was generally not meddling in states with legal marijuana.
Congress has upheld the lenient federal stance since 2014 by passing legislation protecting medical marijuana from anti-drug federal prosecutors. No legislation was passed for recreational pot.
The current Attorney General has been quite outspoken and critical of legalized marijuana with his rhetoric publicly. He has ordered his department to study the current federal policy regarding states with legalized weed and may decide to enforce federal law in legal states. Holder even believes that sessions has an unnatural hostility towards cannabis and the support for states placing their own regulation. He also said “I think that was a really good policy. Let the states experiment with the notion that, again, we have these eight or nine federal factors and if you trigger one of these eight or nine factors the feds are going to be coming in. The Sessions almost obsession with marijuana I think is the thing that’s put the Justice Department in this strange place.”
With Sessions views on race being well known, it’s clear that he has the same obsession with Holder and his accomplishments that Dotard Trump has with Obama’s. Jim Crow is back in town.
