Former gym teacher pleads guilty to marijuana possession at Va. elementary school

A former Arlington County gym teacher pled guilty Tuesday to possession of marijuana on school grounds.

Luke Lloyd, 25, was sentenced to 30 days in jail with 20 served, 100 hours of community service, and a $500 fine.

Two physical education teachers, Michael Diaddigo, 28, and Lloyd, were charged with possession of marijuana and were suspended from their jobs, according to a letter sent home to parents by Principal Harold Pellegreen. An additional staff member was placed on administrative leave.

According to the search warrant, an informant told police that Diaddigo, Lloyd, and a third teacher had regularly used marijuana in a room in the building and used an air freshener to cover the smell. A drug-sniffing dog found marijuana in two desks.
