FRANKLIN COUNTY, Fla. – In Franklin County, six inmates at the jail are recovering Tuesday after ingesting what Sheriff AJ Smith called “fake weed.”
According to Smith, the inmates smoked a form of synthetic marijuana.
They had an adverse reaction to it and were taken to a hospital.
Sheriff Smith said over the weekend, a female was arrested at Franklin Correctional Institution for bringing in contraband.
She was charged, strip searched and brought to jail.
However, Smith said the woman had more undiscovered contraband in her body and inmates at the facility got access to the fake weed.
She now faces additional charges.
