Juárez police arrested a suspected member of La Linea crime group accused of transporting 250 pounds of marijuana that was to be smuggled to the United States.
The seizure was made Monday after police got information about a drug load heading to the Valley of Juárez in a gray 1998 Grand Cherokee, a police news release states.
Police found 250 packages of marijuana after stopping the vehicle, police said.
The driver, only identified as Luis Ivan R.H., 24, was arrested on drug charges. He allegedly claimed to belong to La Linea crime group and told police that the marijuana was to be taken to the U.S., officials said.
