Las Vegas has a Marijuana Drive-Thru
LAS VEGAS — People will now be able to buy weed as quickly as a Big Mac in Las Vegas, Nevada now that the city has opened its first drive-thru marijuana dispensary. The unique marijuana dispensary is the first weed drive-thru in the United States and will be open 7 days per week.
The Nuwu Cannabis Marketplace is owned the by the Las Vegas Paiute Tribe and is located downtown on tribal lands. The dispensary opened last Friday and will try to provide quick service in one minute or less for customers who are disabled or elderly and have trouble getting in and out of their cars.
The drive-thru used to be a $30,000 bank teller window that was sent from Washington state. The window has bullet-proof glass and is equipped with two surveillance cameras.
The dispensary is almost 16,000-square-feet and serves approximately 300 automobiles at its drive-thru window on a daily basis. Recreational weed has been legal in Nevadasince July and Nuwu is the only dispensary with a drive-thru window. There is another dispensary in Sun City, Arizona with a drive-thru window but it only caters to medical marijuana customers.
