Marijuana Cultivation Facility Approved by Washington Co

Washington county is a step closer to becoming home to one of the state’s first medical marijuana grow-ops.

The non-profit group Native Flower is behind the 1.5 acre cultivation facility.
Washington county planners approved Native Flower to move forward with its plans.

They are also working to ensure pot won’t fall into the wrong hands, should the group be allowed to grow.

Nathan Crouch, Senior Planner for Washington county, says, “They have a very thorough security plan. They have bio-metric locks on their entry doors with a thumbprint and a security code they are putting in 32 outside infrared cameras because they want it to be very secure. ”

This is just the first step in a long approval process.
The county’s quorum court must also green light the facility, and then the state grant the actual license.
