Under a 2013 law, the government plans to undermine drug traffickers by supervising production.
The authorities are also in charge of overseeing sales of the drug through pharmacies. The implementation of this policy should happen by 2017, although it is supposed to have happened by now as dictated by the law.
The law also says that pot consumers have the freedom to grow it as long as they register themselves as members of state-regulated smoking clubs.
One is also expected to register if they want to buy it from a pharmacy.
Fingerprints will be used to identify authorized buyers and they can purchase up to 40 grams (1.4 ounces) a month.
The pot friendly Uruguay is certainly a haven for any marijuana consumer. You should probably consider visiting this nation to enjoy a blunt.
