TUCSON, Ariz. – Willcox Station Border Patrol agents at the immigration checkpoint on State Route 90 near Whetstone arrested a 35-year-old Texas man Wednesday after finding 45 bundles of marijuana, worth approximately $413,000, in the back of a box truck he was driving.
Agents conducting immigration checks referred the driver to a secondary inspection area after a canine alerted to an odor it was trained to detect. While in secondary, agents opened the back of the truck and discovered the marijuana inside.
Agents seized the drugs and truck, while the driver, a U.S. citizen, faces smuggling charges.
