The medical marijuana initiative passed in the House today 79 to 13. The voter-approved bill needed a two-thirds vote from representatives. The North Dakota compassionate care act allows the use of marijuana as medicine for people who suffer from debilitating illnesses.
“Connie Falkenstein has been following this bill since the very beginning. She tells us why it’s important this passes.Connie Falkenstein: “I have PTSD from incest, rape, and molestation. I have fibromyalgia, I suffer depression, panic attacks, severe anxiety, arthritis.”
The bill still needs to go back to the Senate for the amendments to be approved. It will most likely go to conference committee if and when the Senate votes. That committee meeting will have 3 Senators and 3 house reps to sort out the final details.
