A mother in Utah has been accused of giving teens—one of whom was her child—marijuana in exchange for a ride to Taco Bell, according to a report from KSTU in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Police were alerted to a woman paying with a counterfeit $100 bill at a Taco Bell in St. George, Utah. Police reportedly found the vehicle and stopped it.
Two juvenile girls reportedly told police that the mother, Tasha Jennings, offered them weed as payment for all their meals in exchange for a ride to Taco Bell. The two juveniles were charged with marijuana possession and possession of paraphernalia.
Later, Jennings was found at a local bar and charged with possession of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia, possession of a counterfeit bill, and two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, according to KSTU.
Local station KTVX reported Jennings was also charged with a third-degree felony charge of possession of forgery writing or device and police said Jennings was on probation when she allegedly committed the felony.
Taco Bell and marijuana aren’t exactly an unnatural pair. The marijuana experts at High Times this year named it America’s best stoner restaurant. High Times rated restaurants on their menu (worth 20 points), convenience (worth 15 points), environment (worth 10 points) and food quality (worth 5 points). Taco Bell scored a 40 out of 50. Second-place Denny’s was well behind at 32 points.
In their rating, High Times noted that the environment at Taco Bell restaurants was uniquely suited to people who enjoy marijuana.
“Taco Bell rarely has as much seating as, say, a Wendy’s, but it is often nicer than an average fast food restaurant,” High Times noted. “Also, basically everyone in a Taco Bell is either drunk or stoned, so no judgment shall be passed.”
