DES MOINES – New information about Iowa’s Medical Cannabidiol program have been revealed after a Wednesday meeting.
After feedback from Iowans and the one company that’s going to manufacture the product, the Medical Cannabidiol Board outlined new information for Iowans at its Wednesday meeting. They found that the financial impact of the program will cost the state about $100,000 a year. Anticipated costs would be to cover administrative costs for equipment and office supplies.
There would be no impact on jobs.
The next big project the board is working on is licensing up to five dispensaries. MedPharm Iowa was the only company to complete the licensing process to grow marijuana and manufacture cannabis oil in Iowa. They were recently licensed by the board.
