Nuuvera breaks ground on medical cannabis packaging facility

Nuuvera Deutschland has broken ground on a new facility in Germany for storage and packaging of medical cannabis products.

Located in Bad Bramstedt, in northern Germany, the 11,300ft² facility features security and related technology and will be built in compliance with the most stringent requirements for the storage of controlled substances in Germany and the EU.

Planned to be built in two phases, the storage and packaging facility will help meet the increasing demand for medical cannabis products.

Nuuvera CEO Lorne Abony said that the new facility will help the company in continuing to develop into a major supplier of medical cannabis products to German consumers.

“It is a critical element of our on-the-ground operations in Germany and throughout Europe.”

The first phase of the facility involves construction of one the storage system with scheduled commissioning in second quarter of this year.

In addition to storage capabilities, the second phase involves construction of a GMP certified packaging and processing facility.

Nuuvera Germany managing director Hendrik Knopp said that the facility will serve as a hub for German and European supply and distribution.

“We are very well-placed to immediately respond to market demand, while ensuring premium quality throughout the cultivation, processing, import, packaging, and shipment to pharmacies.

“Our corporate priority aligns perfectly with that of German physicians, pharmacists and lawmakers: that medical consumers receive top quality product on a consistent basis.”

Nuuvera, however, said that the cultivation, processing, import, packaging, and shipment of medical cannabis in the country is subject to regulatory approvals including the approval of the TSX Venture Exchange.
