Orange City teen sentenced for marijuana

SIBLEY—The Osceola County Sheriff’s Department reported the arrest of Andrew Long Ly Swartz, 19, Orange City, about 11:55 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 4, for possession of controlled substance with intent to deliver — marijuana, a Class D felony, and speeding, stemming from a traffic stop in the southbound lane of Highway 60 expressway near the 170th Street interchange on the east side of Sibley.Swartz initially was stopped for being clocked at 80 mph in a 65 mph zone. During the traffic stop, the deputy smelled the odor of marijuana coming off of Swartz. During a search of the vehicle, the deputy located a locked suitcase in the trunk that Swartz admitted had marijuana inside of the suitcase.

Swartz opened the suitcase and inside were approximately 32 grams of green plant material

consistent with marijuana; 20 candies that Swartz admitted were THC edibles; multiple resealable storage bags, a scale and $390 cash.
