OSP seizes 201 pounds of marijuana following a traffic stop

Two men were arrested Wednesday for transporting Marijuana across state lines near Merlin on Wednesday, Oregon State Police said.

Oregon State Police says, at 5:30 p.m. on Oct. 18, a trooper on Interstate 5 near Merlin pulled over a 2017 Ford Explorer for speeding.

The trooper conducted a search after becoming suspicious of criminal conduct and found 201 pounds of marijuana inside the truck.

Police identified the suspects as 29-year-old Pandy Hout of Shakopee, Minn. and 28-year-old Lor Meng of Sacramento, Calif.

Investigators said they had flown into the Medford Airport from Denver and rented the truck.

They then traveled to an unknown location in California to pick up the Marijuana and police believe they were transporting it to Minnesota.

Both men were arrested on charges of import/export marijuana, possession of marijuana, and unlawful delivery of marijuana.

They were both lodged into the Josephine County Jail.
