CALLAWAY COUNTY — An investigation into an outdoor marijuana grow operation resulted in an arrest Monday afternoon.
The Callaway County Sheriff’s Office, with the help of the MUSTANG drug task force, took Billy Garrett, 64, into custody on suspicion of first-degree drug trafficking.
A release from the sheriff’s office stated 475 marijuana plants were found outside Garrett’s residence in Kingdom City on Harrison Creek Drive near County Road 156. Investigators also found about 54 pounds of processed (or packaged) marijuana inside his residence.
The street value of the recovered items was estimated to be near $794,000.
The investigation was said to be ongoing and additional charges could be forthcoming.
