Re: Senate Votes To Legalize Pot (June20). My “sincere thanks” go out to the ex-drama teacher-turned-politician, for introducing another poison into our Canadian culture. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is such a role model for every young Canadian to follow. Now police forces across this nation really have their backs against the wall, as they struggle to keep our roads safe from drunks and druggies 24/7.

(There’s plenty of huffing and puffing over the new laws.)
PRIDE HYPOCRISY
I could not agree more with Jill Young and her letter regarding the hypocrisy of the Pride parade. Gays were heavily discriminated against and marginalized for centuries and it was the early movement that taught society to be inclusive of others. Funny, now that they have rightfully obtained full acceptance in society, they are doing what the earlier movement abhorred and that is practising discrimination.
Barring cops from the parade is wrong and our police chief displayed a definite lack of moral courage when he capitulated to their wishes and failed to don his uniform. Let us hope the parade committee reverses its decision this year and our chief shows some gumption.

(To be clear, they haven’t barred cops from attending the parade, they’ve asked them to leave their uniforms at home.)
TINT OF REALITY
When are law officials going to wake up and outlaw tinted windows on vehicles? These criminals are hiding behind dark glass and cannot be identified because we can’t see them. It scares me to drive in the city and have a car pull up beside me with windows so dark you can’t see in. The only reason someone wants windows that dark is so they can’t be seen.
New stickers should not be issued unless the windows are tint-free and police should be able to stop any car with dark-tinted windows and take it off the road. The only tint allowed should be the factory tint.
We need to take back the control and stop letting the criminals run the show. It’s bad enough they are able to buy guns, but we are enabling them to hide once they commit their crimes. We need to take control and clean up the garbage.
