Sandusky County-Turnpike stop leads to marijuana bust

SANDUSKY COUNTY – Ohio Highway Patrol troopers stopped an Akron man traveling in Sandusky County on the Ohio Turnpike and charged him with trafficking three pounds of marijuana worth nearly $8,000.

The patrol on Sunday  stopped Michael Brown III, 25, who was eastbound in a Ford Focus on the Turnpike near milepost 88, for speeding.

Troopers detected marijuana debris while speaking with Brown and initiated a search of the vehicle, recovering three pounds of marijuana. They also found two unloaded guns in the car.

Brown was charged with a fourth-degree felony and third-degree felony count of trafficking in marijuana.
