Saturday Smoking Guide for Coachella

Saturday Smoking Guide for Coachella had a few hiccups

Though the first day of Coachella had a few hiccups, including some technical difficulties during Radiohead’s two-hour headlining set, fans were, for the most part, treated to a packed day of amazing music and art — a weed smoker’s dream.

Today is day two, with a slew of top-notch musical acts set to touch the Coachella stages. Emerge from your offensively smelling tent into fresh rays of sunshine and the surefire good vibes ahead.

We’ll begin our Saturday with a bit of healing after a long day yesterday, so roll something local like Forte CBD into your wake-and-blake joint to help calm your nerves, relieve any lingering soreness, and clear your mind in preparation for a new day. The Forte, with its roughly 2:1 ratio of CBD to THC, will put you in the perfect mind-state to enjoy midday performances from Autograf on the Sahara Stage and Local Natives immediately after on the Coachella Main Stage.

We’ll keep the party going for Chicano Batman on the Outdoor Stage next at 4:30 p.m. By this time, the sun has been beating on you for much of the day and a delicious treat could really be a game changer. Enter Cookies and Cream from Kaya Farms, a Hybrid that will leave you just as uplifted and happy as a bowl of its frozen namesake, perfect for a day like today. The elation you’ll experience as a result of sparking some Cookies and Cream is the same joy you feel when discovering new favorite music like these bilingual surf rockers:

We hope you wore your smoking shorts today, because after Chicano Batman we’re running straight over to watch Thundercat bring his world-class bass skills and weirdness to the Mojave Stage at 5:30 p.m. The LA-native and frequent collaborator with acts like Flying Lotus and Suicidal Tendencies also took home a Grammy last year for his incredible work on Kendrick Lamar’s “These Walls.” One thing to look out for tomorrow would be a surprise appearance from Thundercat during Kendrick’s Coachella-closing set. Thundercat’s own set promises to be like nothing you’ve ever seen before, so we better not risk any “moving around” or “standing up.” This kind of mission calls for a strong Indica, one that will rattle your soul like the vibrations of Thundercat’s vast soundscapes. Pair Thundercat’s set with the hard-to-find yet well-worth-the-search Nectarine from Nameless Genetics. The pungent flower puts the user in an unmatched creative zone where colors, sounds, and feelings like the one Thundercat’s set will evoke are high-ly encouraged.

We’re going to double down on the Indica adventures for our next pairing, as Atlanta hitmaker Future is set to hit the Coachella Main Stage at 7:30 p.m. The self-described inhabitant of Pluto’s prolific discography has been consistently great for years, but his recent releases have shown his true potential in the industry. As a representation of Future’s otherworldly flow and penchant for selling lots of records, we’ll pair his can’t-miss set with Atomik’s Platinum Moon Rocks. As the great philosopher 2 Chainz once said, you’ll want to mix the moon rocks with something slightly less potent so as not to get yourself stuck in a crater-lock.

Future’s set will only run about 50 minutes, so you’ll still have quite a bit of time left on your Atomik clock. Let’s ride out the rest of the moon rock buzz over at the Outdoor Stage for SoCal’s own Schoolboy Q at 8:25 p.m. and DJ Snake in the same spot at 10 p.m.

Now that your body high has been exhausted like your supply of festival socks, it’s time to make your way to the Main Stage for tonight’s marquee performer, Lady Gaga. If Gaga’s recent Super Bowl Halftime Show performance was any indication, the chart-topping songstress shines brightest when the stage is the biggest, and Coachella should be no different. We’re going to change up the pace a bit so we can dance to Gaga’s parade of smash hits, so break out your Brass Knuckles pen, complete with a delicious SFV OG cartridge. This Sativa-dominant Hybrid is a California-native just like Coachella, so it’s the perfect way to put a smile on your face as we close out day 2 of this weekend’s festival. Make sure you come back tomorrow for our pairing guide finale.
