Longtime fans of cannabis cinema noir will be able to fall in love with highly acclaimed stoner film Up In Smoke all over again after Paramount announced a new 40th Anniversary Deluxe Collector’s Edition of the Cheech and Chong classic will be released on 420 this year.

The ultimate fan’s dream package, the 12×12 Rhino-release will contain the original movie soundtrack on CD and vinyl LP, not to mention a 7-inch picture disc (whatever that is), a 40th anniversary edition Blu-ray of the movie, oversized “Up In Smoke” rolling papers, a movie poster and a book commemorating the anniversary with essays from Cheech Marin and Tommy Chong.

The vinyl will be pressed for the first time since its original 1978 release, while the CD version will include an updated-for-2018 version of the title song.

Need these enormous Cheech and Chong rolling papers like I need the 40 “anniversary” grams it looks like it would require to pack them.

Kanye West appeared on stage for the first time in a while this weekend when he made a cameo during Kid Cudi’s set at an Adidas-sponsored NBA All-Star Weekend event in Los Angeles. The pair performed “Father Stretch My Hands Pt. 1” from Kanye’s Life of Pablo album and Yeezy looked generally happy, which is rare in public.

Now we know another reason he may have been smiling beside how great that song is.

West emerged victorious (kind of) in a long legal battle with Lloyd’s of London, reaching an out-of-court settlement over a dispute that dates back to Kanye’s 2016 Saint Pablo Tour.

When Kanye abruptly ended his Sacramento show in Nov. 2016, he was hospitalized at the UCLA Neuropsychiatric Center for what was deemed exhaustion. He later canceled the remaining performance dates. Because the tour ended early due to extenuating circumstances, West’s camp expected to be able to collect on an insurance policy they had taken out in the event of such sudden cancellations.

Lloyd’s refused to pay out on the insurance policy, citing a clause that absolved them from their obligation if the reason the tour was canceled was due to drug or alcohol abuse. The insurer claimed West’s marijuana use was to blame for his tour ending, which Kanye’s lawyers vehemently denied. When Kanye’s production company Very Good Touring sued Lloyd’s for $10 million, the UK-based company countersued.

Ultimately, Lloyd’s agreed to settle with Kanye for “most” of the amount demanded in the suit. Now, the father of three will be stretching his hands out to finally collect.

If new Cheech and Chong drops weren’t enough to satisfy your OG stoner uncle, let him know that Willie Nelson is harvesting his 72nd studio album, Last Man Standing for release on April 27 — which feels like a scheduling mistake. Yes, you read that correctly, his seventy-second album.

t=The collection of all-new songs written by Nelson, who will turn 85 just a couple of days after the album’s release, was announced with a brand new music video for the title track.

Longtime collaborator Buddy Cannon, who worked on Last Man Standing with Willie, told Variety the two traded ideas for lyrics and melodies over text message. After reading this article, print it out and give to your parent who refuses to adapt and constantly bugs you with technology questions. If 85-year-old Willie Nelson can do it…

Nipsey Hussle hasn’t been in the music game quite as long as Willie Nelson, but it sure does feel like a while. Fans finally got to hear Nip’s long-awaited Victory Lap album Friday, complete with appearances from Puff Daddy and fellow West Coast heavyweights Kendrick Lamar and YG. With all the extra eyeballs on him this week, Nipsey also thought it may be perfect timing to remind everyone about his own strain of cannabis, coined Marathon OG.

Staying right in the heart of the legal cannabis industry in Los Angeles, all of the stars were out for All-Star Weekend — and a lot of them were puffing, puffing and passing. Even actively participating in a celebrity all-star basketball game didn’t stop musicians Chris Brown and The Game from partaking, though they both live out here and are probably pretty comfortable in their stonerality.

Brown was caught by an intrepid Instagrammer passing a mid-game blunt to Game, giving new meaning to the term “benchwarming.”

When one of Chicago’s brightest young stars, G Herbo, dropped his Lil Uzi Vert-assisted single “Everything,” it quickly became his most buzzing single since, well, ever. Now, fellow Windy City-native Chance the Rapper has hopped on the remix to ensure the song reaches stratospheric levels on the charts.

Though fatherhood and the grueling schedule of international superstardom have surely cut into Chance’s free time, it’s nice to know he still takes the occasional “Smoke Break” — especially considering he may have a lunch date with Oprah after.
