While reading last Thursday’s edition of the Orillia Today, I noticed a cartoon that depicted a cannabis plant casting a shadow of ‘demons’.
I can only assume this is negative propaganda and a crude metaphor toward the potential disadvantages of legalized cannabis in Ontario.
Which, as studied, there are few.
As a longtime medicinal user and local entrepreneur in a related field, it was very discouraging to see this opinion put forth by a local news source when it seems it’s shifting the dichotomy of the subject in the opposite direction of current progress.
Especially considering the cartoon had no direct message or explanation as I find most do, it seemed very misrepresented or too open to interpretation.
My opinion on the subject is simply to cast positive light on the potential benefits for our area, not only medically but economically.
