A mother from Dursley was shocked to discover a blade at the children’s park that she regularly takes her toddler too.
Upon further investigation, she also discovered that there was broken glass littering the area and laughing gas capsules
The mother noticed the sharp object before her child did, but whilst she cleared the debris, she also found a quantity of cannabis in a plastic bag.
Rosie Jefferies, 27, from Dursley, said: “I went to the park today as we frequently visit the recreation park in Dursley.
“There were other children there today and luckily I saw the Stanley blade before my son or any other child did.
“Some children may not know what it was and how dangerous it could be. There was a trial of rubbish and glass in the park and it is a shame that you can not let the child go and play and safely explore whilst you keep an eye on them.
“I am not completely sure if the laughing gas capsules and the cannabis in the park is anything to do with the blade.
“Whoever lost their drugs I am sure are very annoyed but they can be rest assured that it is all disposed of nicely in the bin now.”
Ms Jefferies also found plenty of rubbish and smashed alcohol bottles in the park.
Ms Jeffereies said: “I put it on the Dursley Matters Facebook page to alert people that this is going on and so other parents are aware.
“I also heard that someone was hit over the head with a bottle last night at the fair too. It is a shame that the fair brings that sort of thing and young people getting carried away.
“We were all 16-years-old once but there is no need to start carrying blades, and not making good choices.
“Leaving that sort of thing lying around, well what if their younger sibling ingested the drugs for example how would they feel, or what if they had cut themselves on a blade when they were out? How would they feel.
“It is meant to be a homely town and it is a shame that this happened.”
