Recall the much-heralded “Euclid Avenue Beautification Project” of some years back? All of that avenue was expected to pitch in and make the west entrance to Helena a pleasant drive by upgrading landscaping, etc. The big emphasis was on the highway dividers. Ouch!!! Look at them now. Dead/dying/gone trees and bushes, weeds growing in profusion and overall a total lack of anything remotely connected to landscape maintenance — been that way for years now. Too many businesses and property owners simply don’t seem to give a darn about the appearances of their properties. Again, weeds, unwanted grasses, etc. So distracting.
Kudos to those of you who take great care of your property and there a many of you. Helena is the capital city of Montana. One should expect some pride in what we have here and that includes visual matters. Even many of the areas leading into Helena from the east leave much to be desired. Little or no maintenance. I thus often refer, not fondly but sadly, to these many areas of our great city as Weed City, Montana.
C’mon folks (including governments), pull the weeds, clean/tidy things up. Show that you care!
