HOWARD TOWNSHIP, MI – Two men were arrested Monday for possessing and illegally growing marijuana in Howard Township.
Detectives executed a search warrant in the 60000 block of Conrad Road in Howard Township on suspicion that marijuana was illegally being grown there.
Upon arrival, three subjects were detained from three separate buildings on the property.
After detectives conducted a search of the buildings on the property, marijuana, marijuana paraphernalia and a marijuana grow operation were discovered.
According to a news release from the Cass County Sheriff’s Office, the marijuana grow operation was not being conducted within the guidelines provided in the Michigan Medical Marijuana Act and was deemed illegal.
Only two of the three detained were arrested, a 56-year-old male and a 62-year-old male.
The 56-year-old was charged with possession of marijuana and maintaining a drug house while the 62-year-old was charged with manufacturing marijuana, possession of marijuana and maintaining a drug house. Charges are still being sought in the matter, the news release said.
The names of the subjects will be withheld pending arraignment.
