A Florida couple had to call the police after they were unexpectedly sent 65lb of marijuana with an Amazon order.
The Amazon customers say they ordered some storage containers online but were stunned when they looked inside the plastic bins.
“We love Amazon and do a lot of shopping on Amazon,” the customer, who did not want to be named, told WFTV.
“They were extremely heavy, heavier than you would think from ordering four empty bins.”
The couple added they were “fearful our home would be broken into, and we didn’t sleep there for a few days” after the order arrived.
After exchanging emails for more than a month with Amazon, the couple say they received a $150 (£113) giftcard from the online retailer and a message which said: “I am unable to do anything else at this time.”
The couple say they want an apology from Amazon, adding: “There was no concern for a customer’s safety. I mean, this could have turned into a worst-case scenario.”
Amazon say its customer service team have been in discussion with the couple, a spokesperson said: “Our customer service team worked directly with the customer to address concerns and will work with law enforcement to investigate the case, as needed.”
Orlando Police say no arrest have been made and are currently investigating.
