Marijuana Enforcement Team Seizes BHO Lab

Calaveras County Sheriff’s Deputies on the Marijuana Enforcement Team seized equipment related to a Butane Honey Oil Lab November 30.

Deputies received information regarding a possible Butane Honey Oil Lab, also called a BHO Lab, in the 300 block of Highway 26 in Valley Springs. Deputies contacted the responsible party of a storage container at that location and conducted a search. Deputies observed a BHO Lab, not currently producing chemicals.

Two cases of “Honey Do” Butane was located as well. Each master case contained 96 butane canisters. There were also large plastic storage totes filled with processed marijuana. Deputies seized approximately 200 pounds of processed marijuana and 192 butane canisters.

This case is currently under investigation. Sheriff’s investigators are conducting follow-up and have identified subjects involved with this operation.

No further information is available at this time.

Butane Honey Oil is a super-potent and fairly newly popular form of marijuana, also referred to as a “hash oil.” The production of BHO, however, can be dangerous, and explosions and severe burns can happen.
